Go Bulldogs! Gering Jr. High FCA

It’s been an indredible morning so far…After plugging through some great discussion based on 2 Peter 1 with our Coaches Bible Study made up of coaches from the Scottsbluff and Gering school systems, I headed over to Gering to take in the Gering Jr. High FCA Huddle Meeting led by Ben Treffer and Todd Boggs.  It was awesome to see how that group has grown from just a couple kids to now almost 25 kids who met this morning.  What is more awesome is the content of what the kids are hearing and discussing.  I think most of Nebraska is still reeling from the Husker loss to Texas a couple weeks ago and it was still the topic of discussion for the kids at Gering Jr. High this morning at Todd and Ben guided them through what God does in the lifes of people through tough losses in life.  It was neat to see the group connect that message to the Gospel as the reason why we would want to trust the Lord to make us mature and complete through the tough things that life throws at us.  The thing that struck me the most was something Todd said to the kids as we were closing.  He said there were roughly 25 kids at the huddle this morning which is awesome considering the size of the group in the past but how many more kids are roaming the halls of Gering Jr. High who desperately need to hear the message of God’s grace through Jesus sacrifice for us on the cross for our sin.  Pray that many kids would be drawn to that group and that many would come to know Jesus personally as Savior and grow in deep walk with Him at Gering Jr. High.
