October 9th saw over 150 students and leaders from across Omaha come
together at Bellevue East HS’s Chieftain Stadium for it’s 3rd annual Fields of
Faith. The evening started off with frisbees, footballs, and soccerballs
being enjoyed on the field til the actual event started at 7pm. Bellevue
East Seniors Trevor Lenear, Roshawn Hollie, Dylan Wheeler, and Junior Trevor
Wood, shared personal testimonies on topics such as prayer, reading the Bible,
reaching teammates and classmates for Christ, and their salvation. Interspersed
throughout the evening were small group prayer sessions and scripture readings
petitioning several areas sensitive to high school students. Pastor Ryan
Jantz of LifeSpring Church in Bellevue shared the Gospel and offered an
invitation for salvation and re-dedication. The evening closed with
Senior Gage Boyce issuing a challenge to live a life of integrity and make an
impact on their schools.
Praise God!!! the weather was beautiful once again. All in attendance
seemed to enjoy the evening and came away something personal. Our prayer
for next year is to see our numbers grow, school environments change, student
speakers from other schools participate, and to bring in a well known recording
artist to provide our worship.
Thanks to all who helped make it happen.
