When I arrived in Lincoln to play football, I wasn’t too concerned about spiritual matters. Though my family had been praying for me, I was more interested in pursuing my own selfish desires. I had heard about Jesus from my family but it wasn’t until college that I realized my need to turn away from the sin in my life and to place my trust in Jesus as Lord and Savior. Finally, there wasn’t any reason to worry unnecessarily about my future because now I knew that God is in control of it. The gospel means good news. By Jesus living a perfect life and sacrificing himself on the cross as a payment for my sin, I’m no longer separated from God.
My favorite verse is Romans 12:2 because it teaches me to renew my mind by studying the Bible.
Favorite verse: “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
